For countless generations, the Excetras have lived in hiding among the shattered ruins of the old cities of Argon. They now walk beneath the shadow of a terrible curse: the Red Thirst, a creeping affliction that slowly drives some of their bloodlines into madness.

Among their males, the curse has taken a more visible and monstrous form. Over time, many have transformed into the Kekrops, serpentine men whose bodies bear the unmistakable mark of corruption and evolution entwined. Feared, yet necessary, they stand as both guardians and omens within Excretran society.

The Excetras are scattered throughout the ancient city-states, divided by old rivalries, forgotten betrayals, and the weight of history. These rival cities often stand in opposition to one another, but when greater threats arise, they are capable of forging powerful leagues, fragile alliances born of necessity rather than trust.

Their society is rigidly hierarchical, ruled by a small number of aristocratic families who claim descent from an age before the curse. Power is inherited, secrets are guarded, and the fate of the many rests in the hands of the very few.
